That’s right, the event that brought “Iron Chef” to Sacramento will bring together four professional cake makers in a battle to see who the King of Cakes really is. The culinary extravaganza will still feature six professional chefs in a live culinary competition with surprise ingredients and a live audience, but throughout the evening, guests will get a taste of what pastry chefs have to offer! Cake scores will be based on taste and texture of cake as well as technique, complexity and wow factor.
But that’s not the only tasting that will be going on. For the price of a ticket, guests will also enjoy samples of food, wine and beer from over 100 local vendors including The Melting Pot, Trader Joes, Berryessa Gap Vineyards, and River City Brewing Co. Guests can also try their hand at the Celebrity Chef Challenge Raffle where winners might receive a Disneyland Vacation, Sonoma Wine Country Trip or Lake Tahoe Getaway.
The 9th Annual Celebrity Chef Challenge will be held on Friday, April 29, 2011 at the California Automobile Museum located at 2200 Front Street from 5:30pm-9:30pm. Tickets are $50 in advance, $60 at the door and 100% of proceeds will benefit the nonprofit programs InAlliance provides for people with developmental disabilities. So, as you wine and dine the night away you will have the added bonus of supporting a wonderful cause!
