People’s Grocery Grub Box Program Partners with Dig Deep Farm & Produce CSA Program
People’s Grocery, a nonprofit organization at the intersection of health and economic development in West Oakland, is pleased to announce their partnership with Dig Deep Farm & Produce as the official produce supplier for their Grub Box program.
The Grub Box is a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) box that contains a selection of fresh seasonal produce that can be ordered and pick up at People’s Grocery or another designated pick up location in the community. The program was originally created by People’s Grocery in West Oakland and is now a collective project of People’s Grocery and Dig Deep Farms & Produce in San Leandro . The goal of Grub Box is to make fresh, healthy and affordable produce available to people who have limited access to affordable healthy food.
The Grub Box program is extremely flexible and allows individuals to choose the subscription that works best for them. A variety of box sizes are offered, delivery can be arranged on a weekly or bi-weekly basis and payment options are available to accommodate budgets. Plus, Grub Box sponsorship aid is available to ensure even those suffering from a current economic hardship can still receive fresh produce. Additional information can be found in the Q&A.
