Chef Patrick Meany to produce seasonal menu from restaurant’s signature wood burning stove.
Those who visit the rustic elegance of The Madrones’ Mediterranean compound in Anderson Valley can now linger over a casual alfresco meal at the property’s newest addition, Stone & Embers Restaurant. A wood-burning stove is at the heart of Chef/Owner Patrick Meany’s menu offerings, with artisan pizzas and seasonal foods that emanate from the embers. Chef Patrick was most recently Chef de Cuisine at Heritage House in Mendocino. He honed his skills from the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco and has an impressive culinary resume including stints at Bouchon Las Vegas and Gary Danko in San Francisco.
Chef Patrick sources the finest ingredients from quality purveyors that share a similar philosophy that food should be clean, fair and produced in a way that doesn’t harm the environment, people’s health, or animal welfare. “My mission is to cook and operate our restaurant at the highest level of integrity,” Chef Patrick Meany said. “I share the vision of The Madrones community spirit and believe we should be informed about how food is produced and we should actively support those who produce it,” Meany added.
“Patrick’s food doctrine is a perfect extension of The Madrones philosophy that life is about community and a sense of belonging,” said The Madrones’ proprietor, Jim Roberts. “Stone & Embers essentially completes our community and we know our guests will embrace this wonderful addition to our complex,” Roberts added.
In keeping with The Madrones’ seasonal celebration, the Stone & Embers’ menu is inspired by the change of seasons and living life with a continuous spontaneity. Chef Patrick brings to the estate his expertise and passion for traditional bread making, canning, pickling, preserving, fermenting, and making vinegars and sea salts. Dining guests will enjoy these specialty items in their Stone & Embers’ dishes and will be able to sample a variety of offerings as well as participate in related workshops that will be offered starting this fall.
Guests can spend the day at The Madrones, walking the beautiful gardens, enjoying the fruits of the tasting rooms and local artisan shops, and stay overnight in one of The Madrones’ lovely Estate Guest Quarters. Stone & Embers is open daily (except Wed/Thurs) from noon – 8:30pm. Local beers and wines will also be offered. All ages are welcome. Stone & Embers is located at 9000 Hwy 128 in Philo, California.
