The action-packed event is scheduled for July 13-16th in New York City, Kicking off with an anticipated Women’s Forum
The Pan-African Weekend, presented by Prudential Financial Inc. and Toyota USA, is the premier celebration of pan-African culture and achievement in the United States. In its 6th year, the action-packed weekend attracts over one thousand attendees through a series of events that engage, empower and connect people of African descent.
The 2017 Edition is scheduled for Thursday, July 13th through Sunday, July 16th in New York City. A new addition to the weekend schedule this year is the much-anticipated Pan-African Women Forum taking place at the Sheraton NY Times Square Hotel. Themed #ChangingOurStory, the forum will spotlight influential women of African descent from various industries and provide the platform for them to share their stories and empower other women.
Other events include the IAAPA Networking Mixer for pan-African professionals (Friday), as well the closing Jazz Brunch (Sunday). However, the highlight of the weekend is the FACE List Awards Gala taking place on Saturday at ESPACE Ballroom. The awards gala is the most prestigious celebration of pan-African achievement where pioneers and trailblazers of African descent are honored for their contributions and impact on society.
The Pan-Weekend Weekend is a very important event that is changing the narrative on people of African descent in this country and around the world. It is a great place to connect with a dynamic group of people who are changing the world, exchange ideas with them, and be inspired by their incredible journey and impact, said Face2face Africas co-founder Sandra Appiah.
